• Perform Prescription Scrutinization and Provide information regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage.
• Provide Vaccination by injectable (IM,SC), Nasal and Oral routes to the patients, and monitor the patients for any adverse outcomes and report it through VARES provided by CDC and to other regulatory bodies.
• Works with technicians to establish patient care as the main priority, organizes workflow to meet patient needs for better care.
• Collaborate with other health care professionals to plan, monitor, review, or evaluate the quality or effectiveness of drugs or drug regimens, providing advice on drug applications or characteristics.
• Review records of patients to determine the appropriateness of medication therapy.
• Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and to prevent excessive usage or harmful interactions.
• Demonstrates problem solving skills regarding difficult medication therapy problems and pharmacy issues in area of expertise.
• Oversee the distribution of controlled substances related to record keeping, documentation, accuracy, and resolution of medication discrepancies.
• Monitor the incidence and prevalence rates of seasonal infectious disease by doing meta-analysis on research articles and prepare guidelines for susceptible populations to prevent disease.
• Provide health education to the community for preventing acute illness or chronic diseases.
• Advise chronic disease patient on timely vaccinations as per CDC Public Health guidelines.
• Assess the factors influencing generic medication price changes and make recommendation for optimum reimbursement.
• Prepare literature on Natural herbal and other over the counter products and display on Pharmacy premises.
• Prepare Adverse Drug Reaction reports and submit through FDA Medwatch program.
• Performing Comprehensive Medication Review and Targeted interventions.
• Counseling patients regarding appropriate use of medications.
• Monitor purchasing orders of pharmaceutical supplies, medical supplies, and drugs, maintaining stock, and storing and handling it properly.
• Request for Prior Authorizations from the Provider.
• Guide pharmacy technicians in requesting medication refills from prescriber office.
• Assure that patients are adhered to the medications.
• Formulate and implement pharmaceutical compliance policies by researching on existing and emerging regulations with respect to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), US Department of Health and Human Services, Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Compliance, Public Health and other applicable Federal / State rules.
Supervise two (2) Pharmacy Technicians.
Must have NJ State Registered Pharmacist License.
Monday – Friday - 10:00am – 6:00pm (1 Hour Lunch Break)
Saturday - 9:00am – 2:00pm
